THE WORD OF GOD – AN INTRODUCTION

The Holy Bible, which is the Word of God, is the complete revelation of God to man. It contains all that God wants to reveal to man about Himself and His plans for man in relation to this earth, to be fulfilled through His Son. It contains all that God wants man to know, and only those details which man can understand.

The Word of God is given by the inspiration of God. (1 Tim.3: 16) The same wordings used in Gen.2: 7 mean, “breathed out by God” to give life to man. See Job.33: 4, 32:8 and Heb.4: 17. The Holy Spirit is the Author of the Bible. (2Pet.1: 21, 2Tim.3: 16,17) We are sealed and indwelt by the Holy Spirit from the moment we are born again. (Eph.1: 13,4:30,2Cor.1: 21,22) We cannot understand the Word of God if His Spirit is not dwelling in us. (1Cor.2: 10-14) The Holy Spirit abides in us to teach us the Word of God. (John14: 16,17,26, 16:13, 1John2: 27, 3:24)

THE FOLLOWING TWO CHRACTERISTICS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO STUDY AND UNDERSTAND THE WORD OF GOD

1) the fear of God &

2) the willingness to obey

(Psa.111: 10, Deut.29: 29, John.7: 17) We are not to be worried about unrevealed matters. To understand more from the Word of God we must be careful to fully obey whatever has been already revealed to us.
